Latte Art – October 11, 2017
Prerequisite: Barista FundamentalsThis two-hour course is dedicated to the practice of steaming milk and pouring latte art. Instructors will provide hands-on coaching as students learn to pour hearts, rosettas, and tulips. Students will also practice steaming milk in different sized pitchers and to different textures (cappuccino versus latte). This course will enable students to… State the basic facts of the chemical makeup of milk and how milk is processed. Demonstrate the ability to consistently produce micro-foamed milk using whole cow’s milk and milk alternatives. List and practice latte art techniques: monk’s head, pour through, side-to-side, stop-start. Perform the steps of pouring designs: heart, rosetta, tulip. Plan for ongoing hands-on practice to perfect technique. Class begins promptly at the top of the hour! Our lab opens 15 minutes before class starts so that you can check-in prior to the start of class.
